Happy Memorial Day!

We had a great Memorial day weekend. Friday I had the day off and Tommy and I spent the morning at my parents house. Then he fell asleep on the way home and I did a few things around the house. We ate dinner outside since it was such a nice night and Tommy loved that!

I worked on Saturday and after I got done we headed to my parents house for dinner. After that it was off to my cousin Mitch's football game. It was so fun to watch him play and they did super! They beat a really good team and this is only their third game! Good job guys! Tommy got bored really fast though and we spent most of the game chasing after him or catching him as he ran down the huge hill by the field. Amy and Paige came up in the evening so we went back to my parents house and visited with Amy and let Tommy play with Paige and Amy some more. We had a fun night catching up!

On Sunday it was the perfect day for a boat ride! My Dad put the boat in Gull and we went up the channels all the way to Nisswa. We walked into town and Paige got an ice cream cone, a book and Amy got both Tommy and Paige really cute shirts! Then we boated back down and had some pizza at Zorbaz! Yum!!! After the food we all headed back to our house for a fire and some drinks. We had a great time playing ball and watching Tommy play with his watertable. Then we had some smores by the fire. Afterwards we played Apples to Apples. It was a great night and it was so fun to spend time with Amy and Paige!

Here are some bonfire photos!

Tommy had so much fun playing with Amy and Paige!

On Sunday we went to Grandma Rosie's for a little bit before heading in to lunch at Applebees. It was nice to visit with Amy and Paige a little more before they had to head back down to the cities. Overall it was a great Memorial Day and we hope you all had great weekends too!

Tommy's Glasses

Tommy loves wearing glasses and he will put on any he can find! It is hilarious. Once he came out of my Grandma's porch wearing her reading glasses. He finds them on his own and puts them on! He looks cute in them too!

Go Twins!

Tommy loves his Twins hat he got from Grandma Jo and Grandpa Steve! He is so funny about wearing hats and glasses. He looks so cute in his hat I had to get some photos!
These photos are actually from Wednesday, but I didn't get around to posting them until today.

He looks so old in his hat! Don't mind the basket, apparently he "needed" it at daycare today!

Trying to get a frontal shot!

Ear Infection

Poor little Tommy has another ear infection. I was called from work at 12:30 on Wednesday because he had a fever but by the morning the fever was gone so back to daycare he went. When I called to check on him around noon on Thursday Alissa checked and he had a fever again. I decided to bring him to the clinic since Memorial Day is coming and we don't want to be stuck with a sick little boy all weekend. The verdict was obviously an ear infection so we got him on some antibiotics and hopefully it will clear up soon! I already have tomorrow off so we will spend the day together. Saturday I have to work and Amy and Paige are coming up that night! We are going to go to my cousin Mitch's football game, he is on the semi-pro team in Brainerd. The plans for the rest of the weekend are still up in the air. I know Tommy will have fun chasing his cousin around though, he loves Paige!!!

Uh Oh...

Tonight we heard a big "Oh No!" followed by a lot of crying from Tommy's room. Mike got up to check on him and I heard him say, "Go show Mommy what happened." I knew right away what had happened. I have been waiting for it to happen for a while now. Watching Tommy bite and pull on his nuk it was only a matter of time before he ruined it. He bit a chunk out of it and was devestated about it. He cried and cried, ocassionally saying "nukie broken." It nearly broke my heart how sad he was. We couldn't even give him a new one if we wanted to because he would only take the old warn in ones. I ended up having to rock him to sleep. Hopefully he will get over it soon!

Our Little Mimic

Tommy has really been talking a ton lately! He says so many things and knows what they mean too! We have a big boy now! I tried to get a few things on camera that he says a lot, but we had to do the copy thing, which he is really good about repeating everything too!

This video ends abruptly because Tommy spilled his milk down Mike's leg.

Tommy's new shovel and bucket

Tommy had a great time with his new shovel and bucket while we were making dinner tonight. Luckily I don't have any flowers planted yet. Maybe we need to get him a sandbox...

Notice the dirt on his right shoulder

Mark & Jodi's Wedding

This weekend we went to Superior, WI for Mike's cousin's wedding. It was freezing up there! I think it actually snowed a little bit. We got to the hotel and took Tommy swimming for a little bit before the wedding. He liked playing on the video games more then being in the water, but I think he still had fun in the pool too!

I stayed behind during the actual wedding ceremony while Tommy napped at the hotel. Mike went to the wedding and reported back that it was a beautiful wedding.

The happy couple (I had to borrow the photo from facebook since we hardly got any photos)

The reception was very busy for Mike and me. We spent the whole time chasing a 1 year old! He is so busy now, but we don't mind. :) We were able to get a little rest thanks to the portable dvd player. It is amazing how hard it is to get him to sit down even for a little bit. He had fun crawling around the dance floor trying to "catch" the lights. Luckily we managed to keep him from getting stepped on! After a few hours of running around Tommy had a few fits because he wanted to be outside and we ended up taking him back to the hotel around 9. It was too bad we had to leave so early, but we were so busy running after Tommy we really didn't get a chance to see anyone anyways. Here are the only photos we got the whole weekend.

Tommy sipping milk out of a champagne glass.

Sunday we stopped by the gift opening to see everyone. We were very happy that Mike's Grandma Evelyn was able to come to the wedding since she hasn't seen Tommy for a long time! Tommy also got to meet Mike's cousin Brian for the first time! It was nice to see everyone and congratulations to Mark and Jodi!

Wine Tasting

We had a wine tasting at our Church tonight and it was a great night! We picked up Katie and Becca to watch Tommy and left them happily eating paninis. I don't think Tommy even noticed us leaving since he was busy with his friends! We met my parents, Laurie and Jeff, and Dave and Carol at Iven's for some drinks and appetisers. The appetisers were fabulous! Then it was off to our new Church. There were many wines to try and they paired each of them with more delicious appetisers! It was definitely a fun evening and it is nice to belong to a Church that does social events like this. Here are some photos of the group!

Yay!!! The slide is up!

Mike had the slide and rock wall up when Tommy and I got home tonight, so we brought him out to see it. He loves it!!! He is already pretty good at climbing the rock wall and can make it down the slide all by himself!

Happy Mothers Day!!!

We want to wish a Happy Mothers Day to all of the beautiful mothers in our lives. You are all wonderful and we love you all very much!

We had a lovely weekend. The weather could have been better, but we survived! Mike was home with Tommy on Friday and they had a good day at the park, playing outside and just hanging out together.

On Saturday my Mom and I went to a bridal shower for a family friend. It was very nice and we got to catch up with some friends we don't get to see very often! Tommy and Mike drove over to my parents house after his nap since the shower was at my Mom's neighbors house. Tommy got to play on his new swing set my parents bought a few weeks ago and he loves it! He was so funny and excited! He already twists the swing while on his belly and can go down the slide all by himself! What a big boy! We made delicious burgers with mushrooms, bacon, muenster cheese and guacamole on them, yummy!!!
Here are some photos and videos of Tommy on the swingset!

Yesterday we went to church with my parents. Tommy was very excited to see Jeff, Laurie, Katie and Becca there too! Then we went home and Mike made breakfast for Mom, Dad and me. Maple sausage, bacon, andouille sausage and mushroom omelet for me, it was so good!!! Mike did an excellent job! After breakfast Mike and Dad started to build the play system/swing set we bought for Tommy. It is coming along, hopefully we will have it done soon so Tommy can play on it! We went to Grandma Rosie's after Tommy woke up to wish her a happy mothers day too! Tommy had fun chasing Cody around again! We hope you all had a fun weekend too!

House projects

We have been busy doing a few small projects around the house and I thought I should post our progress!
The first was quite a while ago. After many years of doing my makeup on the floor next to a mirror, I finally have a desk area to do it in! My parents gave us the desk and Mike installed the mirror and light fixture for me! I love it, it is so nice to have all my stuff up where Tommy can't get it as easily!
The next project was redoing Tommy's bathroom. I purchased a new shower curtain and decorations over a year ago, we just hadn't gotten down to actually painting and everything. So on Friday we painted the first coat and Sunday we finished up the second coat. I got everything put back in there yesteray and I decided to post a few photos!

Before shots

The vanity before, it definitely needed some color and fun added for Tommy!

And here are the after shots!

We painted the walls a bright teal blue and the accents are frogs! Tommy loves them!

I love the light switch cover so I had to put a photo of it on here! I am so happy that we are pretty much finished with the bathroom except for a few decorations on the wall. It is so nice to have a bright bathroom for Tommy!!!
