Playing at the park

In an effort to wear Tommy out a little bit we brought him down to the dam where they have a little playground area. He really enjoyed climbing the ladders, crawling through the tunnel, riding on the spring toys and sliding down the slides! He didn't want too much help either. He had a great time exploring the whole area and then wanted to be pushed in the swing for a little while. It was a nice evening for it and I am glad we took the time tonight since it looks like it will be raining for the rest of the week. Boo.

In the swing!

We also walked over the dam and he claims he saw "fishies" even though they were pretty hard to spot. They were huge, but the same color as the rocks they were swimming over! It is nice to know we have a place to take him to play that is so close to the house. Hopefully we will get the swing set built that we got him with a little help from my parents and Shelly. That is on our schedule for the next couple of weeks hopefully!

Fun at Ponchos

My aunt Denise was up for the night so a get together was quickly planned. After work we all met up at Poncho & Lefty's, a Mexican restaurant in town. It was quite a crowd, Denise, Grandma Rosie, my Mom, Jim, Kim, Nicole, Laurie, Jeff, Katie and Becca were all there as well as Mike, Tommy and me. It was nice to visit with everyone and Tommy had fun playing and entertaining everyone. It was also nice to break up the monotony of heading home to make dinner. We haven't been to a happy hour in ages and we had a great time there!

Beer brats!

We had our first beer brats of the year tonight! I had to work, so Mike and Tommy made them and simmered them in the beer concoction for the afternoon before I got home. My parents came over and joined us. They were delicious! Mike also made some brown beans that he doctored up with some help from my mom. I am so excited for summer and summer food! We also ran over to Grandma Rosie's for a little while to see her and tire Tommy out chasing Cody around. Now all we need is warm weather and for it to stick around!

Yummy!

We decided to get a panini press/grill since we don't get to go out to dinner much anymore and it will be so fun to make them at home! We were definitely right! I got a great deal at Kohls and it is a nice quality machine. So far we have made paninis, grilled wrap sandwiches, grilled burritos and even bacon in it. We both love and I am so happy that we got one! Sorry that this is so exciting I made a whole post about it! You can tell how exciting our lives are!

Big Boy Bed!

After a few successful times of Tommy climbing out of his crib we decided to take one side off and put a bed rail in so he wouldn't get hurt. We did it a while ago and it has definitely been a learning curve. The first night he went down right away and just fell asleep. We should have known it was too good to be true! The next night we tried to put him in bed over and over as we were advised from Super Nanny. I think I need to give her a call to work with Tommy, because there was no way he was staying in bed when we would come back every time he got out. He started giggling and sitting on the edge of the bed dangling his feet like it was a fun game. Yay for us! We finally locked him in his room with the baby gate and let him cry at the gate for a while. He eventually makes it back into his bed and goes to sleep, usually with help from one of us. The only major trouble we are still having is during nap time! Hopefully we can get this under control soon. Here are a few photos of his new bed!

Dinner at Grandma Rosie's

I came home from the wedding with a bad cold/cough. I don't know if it is allergies or just a cold, but I can tell you that I am not feeling very well and Mike doesn't sound too much better. Boo... That being said it was nice to come home and have an invitation for dinner at my Grandma's house. She had my Mom and the three of us over for corned beef and cabbage. We usually try to do it around St. Patty's day, but we have all been so busy that it didn't work out until now. It was delicious as usual! Thanks Grandma!!! It was so nice not to have to worry about cooking too! Hopefully we can shake our coughs soon and Tommy doesn't catch it from us!

Megan & Mike's Wedding

Yesterday we went to our first wedding of the year. My friend Monique's sister got married. We dropped Tommy off at my parents house and headed down to the cities. Since the reception didn't start until 6:30 we decided to leave Tommy at home. He wouldn't have sat through dinner and we didn't want to spend the whole night chasing him and then having to leave early. It gave us extra time to spend with Mo too! We miss her so much and were sad that Zac couldn't come too! Here are some photos from the night. You can tell we were feeling no pain!

A relaxing dinner

Tonight my parents, Bill and Cindy all came over for dinner. We haven't seen Bill and Cindy to much and we decided to celebrate the end of the main tax season for Bill and they also had an Easter gift for Tommy since he is their Godson. He got a cool book filled with animals and he loves it! He also got a bunny which he makes hop all over my face and some fruit snacks! What a lucky boy! We had a very enjoyable evening. We sat outside on our deck with a glass of wine or greenie to start the evening while Mike finished grilling the meat and bread. The food was delicious and Tommy loved having extra people around to laugh at him while he was being goofy! We definitely have a ham on our hands! After dinner Uncle Bill chased Tommy around and they had a great time wrestling! It was so fun to have them all visit! We will have to do it again soon!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to everyone! Church went very well, the music sounded great and Tommy even behaved for the most part! He was very good sitting with Mike until a baby cried in the back and he wanted to go and check on her. We had a great time at Aunt Cathy & Uncle Craig's house for lunch after church too. There were about 33 people this year and there were a lot of kids around for Tommy to play with. As always the food was great and the weather cooperated for an afternoon of kite flying. What a great day!

Rylan & Camden brought up their gator!

Rylan was happy to give Tommy a ride since he is too little to drive on his own!

Choir Practice!

Tonight we went to my Aunt Laurie's house for dinner and choir practice for Easter Mass. We are going to be the choir at the new church in Brainerd. It was fun to see everyone and Tommy had a great time playing with all the kids! It is fun to see him interacting with other kids more now that he is getting older. He is talking like mad now too, what a fun age!

The return of the WeeSqueaks

Tonight Tommy found his wee squeak shoes again. They are pretty snug, but he was adament about wearing them, so he ran around and danced in them all night long. They are on over his jammies. Here are a few videos. It was right before bed and that is why he has his nuk.

My birthday celebration!

We celebrated my birthday at work today and it turned into a whole day celebration. They decided to make a big deal about it since it was my 30th!

Ruth and Kathy made me a candy bow and it was loaded with tons of candy!

My princess birthday cake, it was delicious! Mike and Tommy showed up for cake too!

They also made me a crown and got me a Britney photo! Thanks for making my birthday so great!!!

The Zoo!

On Saturday my parents, Amy, Paige, Brian, Mike, Tommy and I all went to Como zoo to see the animals. It was a nice day and most of the animals are indoors right now so you can see them pretty close up. Tommy LOVED the monkeys! They were coming up to the windows and running around for all of the kids and Tommy was yelling "Monkey!" over and over. It was really cute. He also liked the "kitties" which were mountain lions, tigers and lions. He thought the giraffes and zebra were pretty cool and he gave them a big "moo!" It was a very fun morning and we are very glad be brought him to see all the animals!

It's Britney!

We went to the Britney Spears concert last night for my birthday. We had a great time and it was an excellent show! There were acrobats everywhere and a ton of crazy dancers, fire, fireworks... It was definitely a show worth going to! Here are a few photos from the night.
