Thud...

That is what Mike and I heard shortly after we put Tommy to bed tonight, followed by a lot of crying. We both ran to check him out, but he wasn't hurt just scared. I knew he was close to climbing out of the crib, I just wasn't expecting it this soon! I guess we will be using the rails we got soon and moving him into a bed he can get out of. Yikes!!!

Smoked meat

Today I had huge hopes of a fire and burning a bunch of brush we need to get rid of. I was so sad when the wood refused to start. The stupid snow ruined everything. I am so sick of snow and then we get dumped on. At least we were still able to use the smoker. We decided to do a turkey breast, some pork spare ribs, baby back ribs and pork chops. Everything turned out delicious and we have plenty of leftovers to last us a while. My parents came over and joined us for dinner and played with Tommy. We put him to bed and luckily he didn't climb out and then we played a few games of cribbage. We haven't played in forever and we had a great time! We really should get the board out more often. Tomorrow we are off to look for some bed rails, wish us luck!

Outside?

We have been getting glimpses of our summer every night this week. Tommy will bring us his shoes and coat, put his own hat on and grab our fingers pulling us up while saying "Outside?" He repeats it over and over eventually getting more and more whiny. We have no problem being outside at all, but it was freezing and wet out tonight! Mike eventually gave in and I snapped a few photos from the warmth of indoors. We let him out on the deck so he got bored fairly quickly but I don't think Mike minded too much! :)

Not even the thrill of seeing the camera could bring him inside!

A good night to update the blog!

Tonight I took advantage of the President speaking and American Idol not being on and updated the blog. There are six new blogs on here and I hope you enjoy seeing what we have been up to! Here are a few photos and videos of Tommy talking from tonight too!

A great weekend with Paige!

On Friday Tommy and I had big plans to go to the water park with Paige, my parents, Katie and Becca. I was up early getting everything together and wondering why Tommy was sleeping in so late. I found out when he woke up. He had a fever of 101.8. He was burning hot and I brought him into the clinic to check his ears. They sent us away without any diagnosis except a cold. I was a little bummed since Paige was here for the weekend. We ended up going to my parents to see Paige for a little while anyways. He started to feel a little better and played with Paige a little bit. They went to a movie in the afternoon so Tommy and I went home for his nap. We went back over to my parents house with Mike for dinner and by the end of the night I could tell he was starting to feel better.

I had to work on Saturday, but was thrilled when Tommy woke up fever free. Whatever the problem was at least it was short lived. After I got home from work we headed over to Laurie and Jeff's house for fabulous burgers! Paige had a great time playing with Katie, Becca & Tommy and we all had fun playing wii!

Sunday we finally made it to the waterpark. It worked out well since Mike got to come along. Katie and Becca came to keep Paige occupied as well. Tommy just sat there monotone for the longest time. We tried the water bubblers, a waterslide, the pool with a floating snake, the lazy river with both Mike and Grandpa and finally he perked up in the "Cub Tub." It was a hot tub for kids so it isn't super hot and he loved it! He started kicking and splashing. As we were leaving and he was dressed again he tried to go back to the bubblers, what a goofy kid. I guess we will know that it takes a couple hours to get him warmed up! In all it was a great visit with Paige!

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

Every year we take my Grandma Rosie out on St. Patrick's Day. She is half Irish and just loves having a fun night planned. We had a big group this year, Grandma, my parents, Bill & Cindy, Cathy & Craig, Laurie, Jeff, Katie & Becca and the three of us. It was great to have Katie and Becca there since they ran around with Tommy and kept him entertained while we were able to visit. It was a great night and we had so much fun. Too bad we didn't get more photos. :(

A shower for Jodi

Today we traveled to Superior so we could see Mike's family and I could attend a bridal shower for his cousin's soon to be bride. Tommy loved seeing his family and playing with a whole bunch of different toys! The shower was very nice and Jodi got a lot of nice gifts. Here are some photos from the day!

A visit to Grandma and Grandpas

Last night we decided to get out of the house for a little while and ran over to Grandma and Grandpa's house to visit them. Tommy had a great time running around and dancing with them. He loves to dance and it is so cute!!!

Here is a video showing a little bit of Tommy dancing!

Haircut please!!!

Here is Tommy before his haircut. He is in desperate need of a good cut, but he is absolutely against any clipping of his hair. He grabs his head and says ow! Cross your fingers that I can get more than just a little snip in tonight!!!

Our little monkey!

This morning Tommy was awake and chattering in his crib so I thought it would be a good morning to get some photos of him. And yes he does have Santa jammies on because he loves them so much and says "Santa, Santa, Ho Ho Ho" all the time!

The first one wasn't too bad, but I wanted to get his nuk out.

After he saw me with the camera and I had taken out his nuk he apparently decided he was going to climb out of his crib to get me. I caught him right after this photo, but I am pretty sure he would have fallen out of the crib if I wouldn't have grabbed him! What a little monkey!
The following are some video from this morning. I was trying to get some of him talking, but he wants the camera or decides to get shy as soon as he sees it. Thus the following videos aren't the best example of his jabbering, but they will have to suffice!

Finally, I was so mad this morning when I saw that the temp was -26 I had to take a photo for my dear friends in Oz. I am SO jealous of you guys!!! How can it be -26 on March 12th?

Tommy's new bed

It isn't quite his bed yet, but we put what will be his bed in our office for now. My aunt and uncle gave us a bed that they didn't need anymore for Tommy to use when he gets a little bigger. We didn't use the loveseat in the office too much anyway, so we decided to put the bed in there and have an extra place for people to sleep if they are staying over too. I found some Lion King sheets that I had when I was a kid and put them on there since Tommy really likes animals. He definitely loves the new bed and is getting very good at climbing on and off of it! He won't let me put the bedspread on it either, he doesn't want the animals covered up! What a goofball!!!
