Dinner at Grandma Rosie's

First I have to start with a story from Friday night. We had my parents over for a fish fry and the food was very good! After dinner we were sitting around and I decided to put on a cartoon for Tommy. As soon as it came on he started saying "Handy Manny" over and over. It was the first time he had said it and it was so cute! Handy Manny is a handy man with talking tools and it teaches the kids a little Spanish too. He has been saying it today too!

Tonight we went to Grandma Rosie's for dinner. My Mom made fabulous chicken enchiladas. Tommy loved it! After dinner my Grandma was trying to open one of her cupboards and the latch was stuck. My Dad was trying to fix it with a screw driver and Tommy pointed at him and said "Handy Manny!" It was so funny! He is such a smart little boy!

Tommy and Cody, the puppy, had a great time chasing each other around and it wore them both out! Tommy also found Grandma's stash of St. Patrick's Day hats and had to wear one around for a little while! Don't mind the Halloween shirt, we love Halloween so much it is year round wear!

Playing with Grandma Rosie's fake candles.

Finally a cute smile after trying hard all night!

Saying "cheese" with Grandma Jo!

A new trick that his two Grandmas taught him tonight!

Dinner with Aunt Cindy

Tonight my Mom, Mike, Tommy and I met Aunt Cindy for dinner. It was great to see her and catch up since we haven't seen her in quite a while. She also had a Valentines gift for Tommy since she and Bill are his Godparents. He got a neat book with wobbly eyes and a puppy which he loves! He also immediately ate 2 packs of the fruit snacks she gave him. He loves fruit snacks!!! He had a great time seeing her and I hope we can get together again soon! Thanks Cindy and Bill!

Swimming!

On Sunday morning we woke up and had a nice free breakfast at the hotel. Then we went down to the pool again. Paige, Tommy, Mike and Grandpa went swimming and Mom and I tried out the hot tub. Tommy is finally coming around to swimming pools. He loves water and his bath, but hasn't been too keen on pools. Hopefully he will keep liking big bodies of water since I would like to get him out on some of the lakes this summer!

The rest of Saturday

After Paige's basketball game we ate some lunch and checked into the hotel. My Dad wanted to go to the golf show so we dropped him off at the Metrodome and the rest of us went to Block E to let Paige play some games at Gameworks. We had a good time watching her play and playing a few things ourselves and then headed back to pick up Grandpa. We went to Park Tavern for pizza and it was delicious! After that Mike and Grandpa took Paige and Tommy swimming. My Mom and I ran to Target to get some things we forgot and I found a pair of glasses for Tommy. He is really into wearing glasses lately! My parents got him a Twins hat for an early Easter present. Simon, his friend at daycare, has one and thought Tommy needed one. After swimming we just played in the hotel room before bed!

Paige's basketball game

Today we headed down to the cities to see Paige. We hadn't seen her since Christmas and Tommy was really missing her! We caught a ride down with my parents and made it just in time to watch her play basketball. It was her last game of the season and we were very happy we got to watch her. She is very good and Tommy liked all the movement. He wanted to get down and play too! Here are some photos and video of her playing!

Here are some videos of Paige playing basketball. Some of them ended up dark since gym lighting isn't the best!

Trying to get a photo for facebook

One more example showing how we have one chance (if that even) to get a photo of Tommy. Mike wanted a new photo for facebook and we were trying to get one a few nights ago.

The first shot didn't even work since he spotted the camera too early!

Come on Mom, give me the camera!

When I didn't give him the camera and we tried for a second shot this is what happened!

Tonight we went over to Matt and Amy's for dinner. They made some delicious crappies and sunfish that Matt caught yesterday. Yummy, fresh fish is so good! Tommy even ate some. Tommy had a great time playing with Ella and Easton and we had a great time catching up with Matt and Amy!

Tommy & his hats

First of all remember that we only have one chance to get a good photo before Tommy tries to get the camera, so our photos aren't the best but there isn't anything we can do about it.

Tommy has started putting many random things on his head lately. He loves hats and anything else that resembles them. Here are a few examples.

He found his St. Patricks Day hat from last year! Good thing it still fits, St. Patty's day is coming up again!

This is a plastic cover for a crayon set my Mom has. He has started wearing this all around their house when we are there!

Finally here is his moose visor from Mo & Zac. He loves this and makes moose (or what he thinks are moose) noises while he wears it!
What a goofball! He is wearing his winter hats around too, I will try to get more photos if he cooperates with me!

Tommy's 18 Month Photos

We had Tommy's 18 month photos taken at the end of January and we finally were able to pick them up. We got the cd with the extra embellishments on it by accident, so I decided to post all the photos. Sorry for all of the repetition! Enjoy!

Maria's Birthday Dinner!

Me and Maria
I know I am going back quite a ways, but I haven't had a chance until now to get this post up. Last Saturday we went out for a nice dinner for my friend Maria's 30th birthday. We went to a nice restaurant up north and had a great time. The food was fabulous and I got to catch up with some high school friends and Maria's family. It was nice to see everyone since we haven't seen them since Maria & Dustin's wedding in Sept. Tommy got to stay with Grandma and Grandpa while we went out and he had a great time too!

For the Super Bowl we had my parents come over to our house for some appetisers and watching the game. I don't know if it was just me, but the Super Bowl just didn't do much for me this year. Nothing was very exciting. The food was great though! My Mom made some wings that were great and we had a bunch of other fun appetisers. It ended up being a great night and luckily my parents were over before we got sick and they were spared from it! We still haven't seen anyone yet, we are hoping to rid ourselves of all germs. Hopefully we will get to see someone soon, Tommy is going a little crazy just being at our house with us all the time!

Finally back at work!

That is right, after five days at home with Tommy sick and getting sick myself I am finally back at work. I feel a little weak and even though I am extremely sick of bland food I am going to stick to it. We are so ready to be healthy again! We disinfected the house and toys and are back on our way to feeling better. Last night Tommy finally started giggling a little again. It is good to see him getting back to normal. Hopefully we can report something even better within the next few days!

Passing on the stomach flu...

That is right, last night I got sick and Mike got sick today. We are both really nauseous and so I brought Tommy to daycare today. I just think he will get a little more attention there than at home with his two sick parents. Poor kid. Hopefully we will all get better soon.

Sick, Sick, Sick...

Tommy woke up last night at about midnight vomiting. I was expecting this a little since a boy at daycare got sick on Monday with it. It was pretty sad because Tommy looked so scared when it was happening. He has thrown up a few more times since then. So today I am home with him and we are cuddling and trying to get him hydrated. I hope everyone else is staying healthy!
