Some old photos

I finally got some photos off of our camera and onto the computer to post. They are about 2 weeks old, but better late than never! Mike had Tommy's drum on his head and Tommy thought it was hilarious!

Tonight we are off for a birthday dinner for one of my friends. It is Maria's 30th and we are very excited to celebrate with her! I will try to get some photos up soon!

Catching Up!

It hasn't been easy trying to do new posts with a sick little boy, so I have been behind. I have caught up for the most part and so if you haven't seen the past few look below!

Tommy loves watching Ellen!

Here is a sweet photo of Tommy sleeping with his monkey in his monkey jammies from last night. He sure loves his monkey!

Luckily he is starting to feel better, although Mike and I are feeling a little worse. Hopefully we will all be back to normal soon!

Fun with a big box!

We finally had to get a new washer. The one we had was a hand me down from my parents so we knew it wouldn't last forever. We ended up with a front loader which I love and we are very happy with it. The best thing about a new washer is the big box it comes in! We made it into a fort for Tommy!

Enjoying the big box

Once again coming to get the camera!

Daddy waiting for Tommy in the fort!

Peeking out of the "sunroof!"

It actually helped the day go a little faster and gave Tommy a fun new toy to play with since we couldn't play outside. He really enjoyed it!

An eventful Saturday

Saturday we had Tommy's 18 month photos and they turned out really nice! We won't have the disk until Feb 5th, so after that I will post them on here for everyone to enjoy!

Afterwards my parents volunteered to babysit so Mike and I could go to a movie. We jumped at the chance and dropped him off at their house. We saw Bride Wars and I thought it was a good movie to relax and enjoy. When we finished the movie we found out Tommy slept the whole time we were gone so my parents wanted us to stay for dinner so they would get a chance to actually play with him! You don't have to twist our arms too hard! We got back to their house and played with Tommy more before dinner time.

He loves trying on all of Granpa's hats!

Howdy!

He pulls them all down and tries on each one!

Usually they are sideways!

Trying to get the camera again!

Sitting like a nice boy watching Sponge Bob

What a sweetheart!

Why it is hard to get a good photo of Tommy!

We usually have one shot at getting a good photo of Tommy. After he sees the camera he runs for us to try and see it. He throws a huge fit if he doesn't get it, which he is on the verge of in this video. He is trying to climb up my legs to get the camera I am holding! It makes getting a photo or video very interesting! I am hoping he will grow out of this stage soon and start smiling for the camera!!!

Feeling a little better

Today Tommy was feeling better, so I decided to take him to daycare for a little while so I could run a few errands. I had the day off anyway and it was way too cold to drag him in and out of stores! Mike ended up getting done before noon and so I picked Tommy up and we met my parents and Mike at Famous Dave's for lunch. Yummy!

While Tommy was napping I ran back into town and met my Mom for a little more shopping. We ended up getting great deals on a winter coat for Tommy for next year! I also picked him up some new shoes since his feet are getting too big for the ones he has!

Tommy's new favorite place to play is in our bed! It is a little crazy, but we spent a good amount of time there tonight. I was trying to get some videos of him talking, but he wants the camera every time he sees it, so I wasn't very successful. Tommy did figure out how to use the other camera though! Thank goodness for digital!

Looking at photos

He was very interested in the photos

The best I could do to get him talking!

Very excited to have the camera! Lucky thing we have two now!

Poor little Tommy

We have had a rough day. For the past few days Tommy has had a pretty bad cold and has started covering his ears with his hands, so I decided to get him to the Dr. today. I made an appointment for 11:10, so I picked him back up from daycare a little before 11. We did not get into the room until close to 12 and I didn't leave the clinic until close to 1. The diagnosis was a double ear infection and a viral cold. It was an hour wait to get a prescription, so I dropped him back off at daycare to get some lunch in him. Then I got his prescription, picked him back up and we headed home for the rest of the day. The poor kid was miserable and I felt so bad that I had to run him all over the place. Hopefully the medicine will kick in quickly and we will have a better weekend!

Sick of the cold weather

Seriously, we are so sick of it. We just want to be able to go somewhere without worrying about having Tommy out too long. When the thermometer of the car reads -35 you know it is too cold. I worked today and Mike was off because of the weather so we left Tommy at home with him. They had a good day full of playtime! We don't have any new photos right now either. I will work on getting some new ones up, but we haven't been doing much lately. I want to try and get some videos of Tommy saying some of his words/phrases too because it is so cute! We will work on that one. Until then we hope everyone is able to stay warm!

Meeting Jack!!!

First I am posting a photo from Friday evening. I went to check something on the computer and I came out to this. Mike was sound asleep at about 8 and Tommy was wide awake watching Mickey Mouse! It is a good thing Tommy didn't feel mischievous at that time! He could have gotten into a lot of stuff.

This Saturday we spontaneously decided to head down to the cities for the day. We made it down around lunchtime so we ate and ran a few errands in Maple Grove quick before heading to Minneapolis. We had to make a stop in Northeast Mpls for greenie mix. Yummy!!! Then it was off to St. Paul where we dropped my parents off at a friends house and headed over to the Skrypek's to meet Jack! I was so excited to see him, he is adorable and so cuddly. I love him.
I got my baby fix with Jack!

Tommy sitting in the basket of Jack's new stroller. I couldn't get any other photos of him, all he wanted to do was kiss the two cats they have.

Mike and Jack

Jack with his beautiful Mommy Kel. Congratulations Kel and Sean! We were so happy to meet Jack! Thanks for letting us stop by!

After too short of a visit (Tommy was about to show them everything they needed to babyproof!) we headed to Rosedale to buy some new pants for Tommy. I was able to find the kind that are adjustable and we desperatly need them! He is way to skinny to hold up his pants, and the ones he is wearing are starting to look like capris!

Then we headed to Coon Rapids to eat dinner at the Texas Roadhouse steakhouse. It was fabulous and ended up being well worth the hour and a half wait for the table. Tommy was very well behaved and we enjoyed our steaks!

Tonight we headed over to Grandma Rosie's house for pizza with my parents, Cindy, Natalie, Allison, Laurie, Jeff, Katie & Becca to celebrate my Grandma's birthday with her. It was a fun night and Tommy had a great time playing with everyone!

Happy Birthday Grandma Rosie!!!

Quick update

I haven't had time to post in a few days, so I thought I would do a quick update. We have been busy playing with all of Tommy's new presents. He is really happy to be back at daycare full time though! I think all of the holidays falling mid week and having him at home inside because of snow storms and the freezing weather had him stir crazy. He was very cranky and didn't like anything in the house. All is better now though. He really loves Alissa and all his friends there. Other than that not too much else is new with us. We have been playing the wii more since the weather was crappy and tv shows were all on reruns. I am looking forward to better tv this month! We will try to get some more videos and photos up soon!
What Tommy likes to do with his new whisk!

He literally walks around with it in his mouth all the time!

Playing with his new kitchen that he got from Grandma Jo and Grandpa Steve!

He loves cooking up a storm!

Drunk drivers...

A photo of the Birthday Girl with Tommy!

I will preface this post with a note that everyone is fine, no injuries were sustained.

Last night my parents were at our house for dinner for my Mom's birthday. We had a great day, my Mom, Grandma and I went down to St. Cloud for lunch and a little shopping. We had a great dinner as well, and Tommy got to play with Grandma and Grandpa which he loved. They left at around 8 and we put Tommy to bed. Shortly after nine we got a phone call from my Dad, my Mom had been hit by a drunk driver (they had driven seperatly since my Mom came over earlier.) It was a young kid and he was pretty drunk from the sounds of it. Her car is totalled and she is very lucky she didn't get hurt or hit someone else since the roads were pretty busy at 8 o'clock.

I ask all of you to please not drink and drive. Think of the innocent people that you could easily injure or kill. Think of the woman driving home on her birthday thinking about how much better this year will be since she found out she had cancer on her last birthday. Think of the mothers and fathers driving with their children in the car. It easily could have been Mike, Tommy and I driving on our road at that time of day. I am so grateful that my Mom walked away from this unharmed and I hope this can be a way to remind people to be safe.
