Happy Halloween!!!

Happy Halloween to everyone! We will get some photos of Tommy in his costume up soon, we will take some tonight! I am a witch again, I just can't seem to break free of the witch, it gives me a great excuse to wear a lot of dark eye makeup! We hope you all have a fun and safe Halloween!

A few Halloween photos

Here are a few photos from the past few days...

He decided to walk around with his own bag of popcorn curls.
The next few are of pumpkin carving

He really wanted to help a lot!

He had a huge spoon for scraping out the inside.

The only problem we had with him was when he tried to eat the guts over and over again!

Very excited!

Not sure why he was pouting here, but it is pretty cute!

The finished pumpkins!

Lit up!

Tonight we went to Cub and got to play lots of games for treats. Tommy was pretty good there and even sat long enough to get his face painted!

Little pumpkin!

I was trying to show his face paint, but he wouldn't cooperate very well!

Carving pumpkins

Last night we carved our pumpkins. Tommy did help me, but he mostly just wanted to eat the guts of the pumpkin. He enjoyed trying to help me scoop out the seeds. However, after they were finished and lit up he wasn't really too impressed. I guess he would rather play with the gooey mess. Oh well. We had a great time and I have some photos, but I couldn't get them loaded, so I will put them in the next post. Tonight we are heading to Cub Foods for their Halloween Festival. It should be pretty fun, they hand out candy and have some games. I will try to get some photos since Tommy will get to wear his costume!

New Kids on the Block concert

Thanks to my cousin Kelly who had a camera at the concert I am posting some photos from the night. We had a great time and the concert was much better than I expected it to be! We were thrilled to be there and had a great girls night.

They did a lot of their old songs complete with their old dance moves, it was like being back in the 90's!

There were thousands of screaming women!

A slow moment

It was cool to see them a little closer

They sounded great and I really like all their new songs too!

I know we are a little bit crazy, but it was definitely worth it and since we went to so many when we were kids it was almost a given that we had to go again!

Tommy's 15 month appt

We had Tommy's 15 month appointment on Tuesday and everything is looking good. He has slowed down on the growth chart, but is still proportionate in the 75th percentile. The doctor said he looks good developmentally and he had to get two shots. I will get some photos from the concert up soon! Here are a few photos of Tommy in his Thanksgiving jammies.

Girls Night Out!

Today I am heading down to the cities to have a girls night out. My Mom, aunt, three of my cousins and I are going to the New Kids on the Block concert. I know, we are nerds, but it is a tradition since they took us 5 times when we were kids. We are eating dinner beforehand and Mom and I are staying at my aunt Denise's house. Mike and Tommy are having a boys night with my Dad. Should be a fun time, I will try to get some photos of all of us at the concert!

Octoberfest!

Today we went to Octoberfest at Ruttger's resort. We picked up Grandma Rosie, my parents and met Cathy and Thea out there. Tommy really enjoyed the polka singers and dancers. He was very good and even sat at the table with us for a couple of hours! It was a great time and we really enjoyed celebrating our German heritage!

Tommy really liked this guy, but when he got close he got a little scared, check out his face!

Aunt Cathy almost put him to sleep!

He was really tired by the time we left and took a very long nap!

Happy Birthday Aunt Cathy!

Tommy's new morning ritual; eating cheerios on our bed while watching cartoons.
That is the only way I can finish getting ready in the morning with Tommy waking up early! He is pretty good about sitting there too!
Tonight we went and celebrated my Aunt Cathy's birthday at Ponchos. It was a lot of fun, many people from our family showed up and Tommy behaved very well. We had the back corner of the bar so he was able to run around and play quite a bit. We are looking forward to Octoberfest tomorrow!

Our little spook

I had to put some photos of Tommy in his new halloween jammies. They are so cute, I love them! He wouldn't really cooperate for me, but you can get the general idea. We've been having some rough nights lately. First of all Tommy doesn't want to go to bed, then he has been waking up in the middle of the night and finally he has been waking up quite a bit earlier lately. I can tell that his teeth are bugging him. Not only are his upper molars coming in, I can see his lower canines are getting pretty close. I am not sure if his ears are bugging him, but he also has a runny nose. Poor kid.

Think Pink

Tommy wearing pink to fight breast cancer

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Our family has been personally touched by breast cancer too many times. As some of you know, my Mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in January. After fighting through chemo and radiation I am happy to report that she is now cancer free. We have known many special women in our lives who have been touched with this disease. Some have fought and lost, some have fought and won and some are just beginning the battle. Please know that all of you are in our thoughts and prayers. We are thankful for the advances made in research and definitely support the cause. So we are wearing pink today in support of breast cancer research and we ask that everyone say a little prayer, buy a bag of pink M&Ms or wear pink to support all the lovely women in our lives that have been touched by this disease!

15 months old!

Tommy is 15 months old today! We definitely have a toddler on our hands. He is very busy and like to jibber jabber all day long! He is adding more words to his vocabulary and is very good at mimicing us when we say different things. He also runs everywhere, half the time we are both running pretty fast to catch up with him! We don't have his 15 month appt until next Tuesday, so I will update with his stats then.

A nice visit with family

We had a nice visit with Mike's mom and sister this weekend. They watched Tommy on Friday while Mike and I went to work. Then Friday night we met my parents and Grandma Rosie for pizza. We had a nice time visiting and Tommy was very well behaved for quite a while. On Saturday we got up and ran a few errands before heading out to the Farm on St. Mathias. It is a nice little farm and it would have been better if it hadn't been raining all day Friday because it was quite muddy. Tommy wouldn't really sit for any photos and we had a hard time reigning him in so we didn't spend too much time there. Maybe next year?

Eating a gourd

He really didn't like sitting on the hay

Trying to help them open up

Visiting the chickens

Trying out one more photo, obviously it didn't work

Finally we sat Daddy down with him

Later on that day we started a fire and Mike, Sandy and I sat by the fire and caught up a little. Both Tommy and Shelly were taking a nap. Later on my parents joined us and Mike made "dutch oven chicken," beer brats and homemade french fries for dinner. Everything was fabulous and we had a great time visiting and playing with Tommy.

Shelly taking a turn

On Sunday we woke up and Sandy and Shelly got up and headed out by 10 am. Mike, Tommy and I relaxed and played during the morning.

Tommy stealing some of Grandma Sandy's toast.

Last night my parents invited us over for steaks and we decided to head over there around 4:30 after Tommy woke up from his nap. We had a fun time and it was nice to be able to go to their house since we have been couped up in our house all week due to rain. Yuck! Hopefully the weather will get better soon!
