Breaking News

Okay, I might be overexaggerating a little bit, but we are excited. This morning when Mike went in to get Tommy he was sitting in his crib! That means he can sit from the crawling position. We knew it would be happening soon because he has been really close to it for a few weeks now, but it has finally happened! What a smart boy we have. Now he should be able to get from toy to toy without much help at all. Anyway, we just thought we would let you all know...

Photos from the day

Not too much new to report. Tommy is getting around very well now and he keeps trying to get into things he isn't supposed to. He has quite the memory too. He always goes right to the heat vent and tries to put his fingers down it or the kitchen rug where he tries to eat the tassels. If we block him he will try to go around or over us. He is definitely smart and sneaky!

Here he is watching me blow dry my hair. He loves the blow dryer. I don't know if it is the noise it makes or the way my hair flies all over the place, but he will just sit and watch me with amazement when I am getting ready.

We went to dinner at Famous Dave's with my parents and Tommy grabbed a muffin and tried to eat it through his nuk. Needless to say, he didn't get to try it and he succeeded in making a huge mess! He had crumbs everywhere!

Trying to get Dad's hat.

He got it but didn't like having it on himself, but I got a quick photo! He is so good at restaurants. We usually feed him before we go and then give him some finger food to eat while we eat. He plays and eats without too much of a fuss. We have been told many times we are lucky to have such a good baby, but we already knew that!

A Night at the Dircks' House

Last night we went to Matt & Amy's for dinner. It was fun to see the kids interact with each other! Ella was running around and you could tell Tommy wanted to keep up with her, but just had to watch her instead. Easton was content watching them too. I got to play and color with Ella, she is so cute and tons of fun.

Me holding Easton, quite a difference a couple of months makes!

Ella with her Miller Lite :) alright, it is actually mine!

He kept reaching for her, I think he wanted her to get him out but she thought he wanted hugs, so he got a lot of hugs from Ella which seemed to please him just as well!

After all the kids fell asleep we had a fun night of wii. We did a fitness challenge, I was the oldest in wii age (disclaimer: it was the first time I have ever played and they made me do the fitness challenge with no practice at all!) After that we boxed each other. I almost beat Amy, but she KO'd me. Then we finished off the night with guitar hero. I am sorry to say that none of us got to finish our songs, we got booed off, except for Amy. She has had it for three weeks and I think she sits at home all day practicing so she can beat everyone! In all it was a great night and we can't wait to take Amy on again and beat her this time! :)

Car Racing on the ice!

Sunday we went to Lake Mille Lacs and watched my Uncle Craig and cousins Mitch and Luke race cars. It was crazy! There were three types; soft tire, hard tire and studded tire. The weather was warm and we really enjoyed ourselves! We look forward to going to more races next year! Luke racing, I think he did the soft tire

They went so fast and we were sprayed with the ice fragments ripped up by the studs, it felt like a fine mist.

It got a little light, but Herbie was in the truck and Tommy was trying to get him through the window. He really liked Herbie a lot!

Tommy wanted to scoot around, but the ice was cold and hard, so he psuedo crawled with my pulling him on a sled! He really enjoyed it!

Thea had to play jumpy jump with Tommy

Tommy crashed just like many of the cars on the ice!

This was his checkered flag lap!

Poor little guy

Last night we went to dinner with my parents and Craig and Cathy (my aunt and uncle). It was really fun to catch up with them and visit. We had a great time and great food at Poncho & Lefty's, but Tommy isn't feeling the best. He had a tummy ache and a sore bottom. He was really in good spirits, but I still feel bad for the poor baby. I am not sure what the exact problem is, but he already seemed better today, so hopefully he is on the mend! Other than making sure he is feeling better we don't have too much planned for the weekend. I am working tomorrow so Mike and Tommy get the whole day together!

Have a great weekend!

Little American Idol Fan

That's right, Tommy loves American Idol. I personally have not been impressed with the contestants, but he just sits and watches them all. He isn't too fond of commercials though! Other than that our lives are filled with fake coughs, tripping over toys and constant playing with anything that will light up or play music. It is so fun to watch him spin around from toy to toy wanting to play with everything all at once. I will say that my arms are getting quite strong from all the jumpy jump he wants to do while I hold him. All that excercise without having to weight lift!

My Mom made these great bibs out of hand towels, they are so nice and cover most of him so he doesn't get food everywhere!

Hot Stuff with little peppers really fits his personality, wouldn't you agree?

This one has hot sauce and peppers on it to, Mike loves it since he will put jalepenos and chipotle tabasco sauce on everything now!

Escaping with his jammies half on after I started to get him dressed this morning.

Smily boy ready for the day!
